A lot of folks don't much care for the Windows Media Center start up animation. If you are among that group, fortunately, there is an easy way to disable it.
It doesn't seem to open Media Center any faster, but it will remove both the music and the animation.
Go to Start > All Programs and right-click on Windows Media Center and choose "Properties."
Click on the "Shortcut" tab at the top. You will see the Target box with the text string: %windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe
Leave a blank space and type in the string: /no startupanimation
The final target should read:
%windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe /no startupanimation
Click "OK." Now your Media Center will open without the start up animation and music.
Note: If you open Windows Media Center from a Desktop shortcut, you'll want to add the switch there. Same procedure. Just right-click on the icon and choose "Properties."
